Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based talking therapy, designed to equip you with the insight and tools to reach your therapy goals. With CBT we help you to identify your “vicious cycle” of symptoms, involving your thoughts, behaviours and feelings. We can then better understand what is keeping your cycle going, and collaboratively agree on various techniques to break the cycle.

Research suggests that CBT is the gold standard psychological treatment for conditions like depression and anxiety because of its strong efficacy.

If you are not sure what is going on for you, but you know you’re not feeling your normal self, we can work with you to understand your symptoms better during the assessment process.

CBT can be helpful for:

  • Depression/low mood

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder

  • Stress

  • Panic

  • Low self-esteem

  • Eating Disorders (Bulimia, Anorexia Nervosa and Binge eating - further consultation may be required)

  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

  • Health Anxiety

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

  • Phobias

  • Social Anxiety

  • Insomnia
