Interpersonal Psychotherapy

What to expect from Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT)

IPT helps people navigate life’s challenges, relationship breakdown, inability to develop meaningful connections, grief and moving through difficult changes; whilst managing symptoms of depression.

If you’re struggling with patterns in your relationships or finding that certain interactions affect your mood, IPT can help you understand these common themes. Together, we explore why certain relationships may contribute to feelings of sadness or depression and, more importantly, how to use the support of people around you to improve your well-being.
Building meaningful and lasting platonic or romantic relationships can sometimes feel challenging, especially if you experience difficulties feeling heard, understood, or respected by others. Together, we can explore these challenges and work on understanding what might be contributing to them.

IPT can help with:

  • Depression

  • Loneliness

  • Divorce/separation

  • Pregnancy, miscarriage, baby loss

  • Grief of someone close to you
